I’m Sierra Wagner, founder of Sierra Laurel Yoga. I have been a student of yoga for many years since the age of 13. With the encouragement of my teachers, I started teaching yoga at age 18.

I empathize with many older adults because I know how it feels to be unable to do basic tasks and movements that I had been able to do my whole life. At the age of 35 I had an accident and severely broke my ankle. I had two surgeries and couldn't walk for over four months. I had to do months of intensive and painful physical therapy.

On a personal level, it was incredibly humbling. Every step I took when I started to learn how to walk again was slow and painful for many months. And this is after years of being active in my body and enjoying independence. Without being able to go to many social events, I felt isolated from my community. I let go of a lot of things I loved for what seemed like a long time.

I found that as I slowly regained capability, I also gained greater confidence in my ability to persevere and found more acceptance of my limitations. I feel a sense of empowerment knowing that I can heal through my own actions informed by yoga's ancient wisdom and the science of modern-day medicine.

On a professional level, this and other challenging injuries have been extremely informative to my work. New ways to do the poses, new ideas about what yoga really is all about and greater empathy and compassion for myself and my students all emerged. These findings led me to become a yoga therapist, specializing in working with older adults with limited mobility, chronic conditions and persistent pain.

Now that I know how to successfully heal my body and ease my suffering I am inspired to help you through your own transitions and challenges so that you can experience the healing transformations and sense of empowerment that I have.

Yoga Therapy is a branch of yoga teaching that has been created for those working with an injury or managing a health condition. Yoga therapy sessions are designed to serve one's self-healing and help you do yoga safely. If you are facing health challenges, therapeutic yoga classes can help you manage your condition, reduce your symptoms and enhance your quality of life. My goal is to guide and assist my clients in becoming more empowered and support them in gaining the capability to heal themselves.

I am committed to providing my clients with exceptional care and service.

I know I'm taking a big risk by offering a full refund. This means, in order to get a refund, you must hold up your end by of the deal by practicing as much as you can in all of the modules you watch, completing the homework, and interacting with the Yoga for Aging Gracefully online group with questions and feedback.

In person sessions are non-refundable.


  • What equipment will I need?

    • At the beginning of each video I will instruct you on the equipment needed for that session. It is best to acquire a yoga mat, 2-3 yoga blocks and a yoga strap before starting the program.

    • It is also helpful to have a quiet space that you can move around in easily.

  • What are the physical requirements for doing the videos? What age range is this designed for?

    • The main physical requirement to being in the program is the ability to get up and down off the floor unaided.

    • The program typically benefits those who are 55+. Younger people with chronic conditions, limited mobility, illness, or injuries will also benefit from the program.

  • What is the schedule? When does it start?

    • Your official program begins when you make your purchase and you receive the first confirmation email from me. This email will also connect to the community on online Yoga for Aging Gracefully Facebook group and get set-up to make your first coaching call. Six weeks later the program officially ends, but you have lifetime access to the videos and bonus materials.

    • The program is designed for you to take two 30-40 minute classes a week for six weeks.

  • How much time will it take each week?

    • Each yoga practice is 30-40 minutes. They are twice a week.

    • There is homework for a couple of the modules only takes a few minutes a day.

    • There are six hour-long weekly coaching calls.

    • Any amount of time you want to spend introducing yourself and checking-in on the online Yoga for Aging Gracefully group.

  • I'm brand new to yoga. Will I be able to do this?

    • This program is designed for beginner and people seeking a slower practice.

    • If you can get on and off the floor unaided you are well suited for this program.
